The Lord knows best

by Jake

Yesterday was Sunday. We were about to walk out the door. Then dad went to start the car and it wouldn't start. Our van has a security thing so that when someone tampers with it it stops gas from getting to the engine. Well our van does that sometimes when no one tampers with it. At first Dad thought that's what had happened. So we waited for 20 minutes singing songs including the song "Just to know the Lamb," which says, "May I soon embrace all you've planned for me." Then we went outside and tried it again and it still wouldn't work. Then Dad started singing the song again changing the words to say, "May I soon embrace all you've planned for me, even when the van won't start for me..." So we didn't get to go to church.
We had our own church service at home. We learned about Jonah and did a cool craft. We kept trying the van all throughout the day and it still wouldn't start. We tried charging the battery with a battery charger our friends brought over but that didn't help. We still don't know what's wrong with the van. But we hope we can fix it in time for art class tomorrow. But the most important thing is that we trust God even when we don't know what He has in store for us.

Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make straight your paths."

Boys Are Boys

by Jake Mena

Boys are trouble,

They play in the rubble.

Boys are boys,

They play with their toys.

Some are bullies,

Some drive down gullies.

Some are brave and wise,

Some are scared and foolish,

But boys are always boys.
